| Spencer and his spike-a-hair-do. |
My youngest baby, Spencer, is almost 5 months old. Unlike my son, Aston who was born with fine hair that has since turned into blonde curls, Spencer was born with Alfalfa (from the movie 'Little Rascals) like hair that was turning into a mullet. The spike was permanent, never went down. And like many of us, who think we are naturally gifted at hair cutting, I tried to cut it and made it even worse. WORSE! So he needed a chop.
Of course all my anxieties came through and I imagined all these horrific experiences that would happen. Especially because he was so young, and whilst he is strong, he still has all those baby-jerky-head moves. I imagined blood, tears and me eventually passing out. So I delayed the process and then eventually asked my partner to take him instead. And so he did. I farewelled them and hoped for the best.
When they came home, I had a complete different baby. A happy one, but completely different looking. Still gorgeous but he newborn baby look was completely gone!
Then the photos were such polar opposites to what I had imagined and played in my head, I just had to share. These are photos to make you smile. I can't remember the last time I saw such a happy baby getting his hair cut. I imagined what he was saying. Captions below.

| Oops! A little tickle-ish round the ear area buddy! |
 |
| Yep, I like it, I like it! |
 |
| I'm looking good right?! RIGHT?! |
 |
| Wait?! You haven't finished right? |
 |
| Dad, how am I looking?! |
 |
| A little hot there buddy.. |
 |
| Scuse me whilst I scratch my gums, it's that time. You know, teeth?! |
 |
| Dad, let's go get some cheeky doughnuts straight after and not tell mum?! |
I always imagined I would be there for every single milestone of my boys. But sometimes it's nice to see that Dad and his boys also had a good time. And to be surprised with awesome pics like this.
I cannot imagine what it will be like taking Aston for his haircut. We most likely will have to take him to one of those kids salons with cars a seats, to almost bride him to have a good time. I'm sure there will be tears, or then again, he may just have as good of a time as Spencer did.
How was your child's first time at the hairdressers???
Luisa xx
